France Park Underwater Photo Contest (month of May)

“Over the years, you all have taken some truly stunning photos from under the water, here at beautiful old Kenneth Quarry at France Park.

There is just something truly impressive about the art of underwater photography…

We loved your entries from last year’s contests, and have decided to put bragging rights back on the table again in May 2026!

Last year’s winner had their photo featured on our digital sign board at the shop all season.

How it works: 

Go diving at France Park (old Kenneth Quarry) any weekend in the month of May (through end of Memorial Day Weekend), and take your best underwater snap shots!

Take your photos any of the following weekends in 2026:

May 2nd and 3rd

May 9th and 10th

May 16th and 17th

May 23rd and 24th

May 30th and 31st

Then, choose (no more than two) of your best shots, and email them to support@diveindy.com by the end of the contest date

(11:59pm EST on Sunday, May 31st, 2026) with the following information:

• Full Name (Will be displayed on the photo if no caption or watermark has already been added)
• Email and Phone Number
• Date that photo was taken
• Brief description or caption for the photo, other relevant information
• Acceptable formats for photo submission are: JPEG, PNG, or PDF (No raw images)
• Final Date To Email Your Photos is: Sunday, May, 31st at 11:59pm EST.

All photos will then be shared via Instagram and Facebook, starting at:

8:00PM EST on Monday, June 1st through 8:00PM EST on Friday, June 5th. 

The photo with the most combined Instagram AND Facebook likes will be featured as the wallpaper on our social media page (with full artist credit of course) for the entire month of June, AND have their photo featured at our shop for the entire summer, so that everyone can appreciate our local underwater talent.

Winner will also receive a “goodie bag” from the shop!

Second and third place positions will also receive a shout out.

We are putting the judging in the public’s hands, so get creative!

Full Photo Contest Rules: 

Eligibility:

1. Photos must be taken in-water, at France Park (formerly Old Kenneth Quarry), during one of the listed weekends in May of this year’s contest.
2. Any professional or amateur photographers may submit entries for this contest.
3. Minimum age to participate is 10 years old. Minors must have a parents consent to participate.
4. Diving photographers and subjects must be minimum open water certified. Freedivers must also have equivalent training from a recognized agency and a buddy with equivalent level of training. Mermaids follow same guidelines as Freedivers.
5.  Photos may feature divers, wildlife, attractions, or interesting features, et…
6. Photos engaging in any unsafe behavior, poor environmental practice, or harassing wildlife will be disqualified.

Submission Guidelines: 

1. Photos only. No videos.
2. Maximum of 2 entries per participant.
3. Photos may have basic digital editing and color correction, but no AI, heavy manipulation, or composite images will be accepted.
4. All participants who submit photos are confirming that they have read all of the complete rules and guidelines for the contest.
5. Watermark or caption with artist info can be added, but must not distract from the photo.
6. By submitting entries, participants also confirm that they own the rights to their photos and that they have not been copied in any way from another artists work.
7. By submitting, participants also understand and agree that photos will be shared on social media and other channels by the shop (credit given to the artists if no watermark or caption is added) and potentially for marketing purposes.
8. Participants DO still retain full ownership of their photos and may request that they be removed at any time.

Judging Criteria: 

1. Judging will be done by way of “likes” on social media channels Facebook and Instagram between the following dates: 8:00pm EST on Monday, May 26th, through 8:00pm EST on Friday, May 30th, 2026.
2. The photo with the most combined likes between both Facebook and Instagram at the close of the above date is declared the overall winner. (Second and third place will also receive a shout out.)
3. The overall photo winner will have their photo featured on Indy Dive Center social media pages in the month of June, and have their photo featured on-site at France Park, so that all park-goers can see their photo. A “goody bag” of prizes will also be distributed to the winner of the contest.
